Notes manager and journal
RedNotebook is a tag based notes manager and journal that uses word clouds that let you quickly access your frequently used items.
The program uses a freestyle formatting approach, you can format entries any way you want, insert images, bulleted lists, rich text annotations or just plain text. You can also create templates for your favorite page layouts to customize the program to your needs.
RedNotebook supports to-do list, diary entries, multi-item pages, and several other features, although we found them to be a little complicate for our taste.
Other features include export to PDF, Text, HTML and Latex, integrated backup to ZIP archive. Your journal are saved in plain text format, so you can use them at any time without depending on RedNotebook

This RedNotebook is a simple program with simple text manipulation for fonts and lists. I use it for keeping track of my everyday tasks and it can be portable as well. You ask why not use Outlook or such but these programs are bulky and slow.
This application works fast specifically for journaling, note taking, event tracking or other purposes. The interface is easy to get around and use. The help function is right at your finger tips if you need it.
